Hardly have time to breath? too many office works to do? Then you have the same scenario with me. But no time for Blogging? Nonsense!
I’ve heard a lot of my friends who try to become a blogger but gave up because of time limitation. I try to break this limitation and I’ve finally make up my own formula to keep both of my world (offline and online) survive and will keep climbing to the top!
I have a primary job as finance manager and a part time job as a blogger. The only way for me to keep both of them in a good shape is by:
- Sacrifice my entertainment time
- Decreasing Social Activities, and
- Decrease sleeping time
In exchange of:
- Building Online Empire
- Making friend with the bloggers around the world, and
- Bad Health
I sacrifice my entertainment time to build my online empire. At first, I was frustrating. I couldn’t keep up with the new habits. Since I love to watch television, sacrificing it was my pain in a*s!
But somehow, I managed to overcome the frustration after I watch the “the secrets” DVD!

I also decrease my offline social activities in exchange of making more friend around the blogosphere. What I’m doing now is typing and clicking and sitting infront of my computer, It have become a part of my communication habits! :p
Sleeping time? Hmm…. I have around 8 hours of sleeping time a day. Now, it have become 6 hours a day!
To let you know How I begin my day and end it beautifully, I’ll let you see my stuffed schedule
- 04.30 am : Wake up + 10 minutes yoga exercises
- 04.50 am : have some bread and milk (10 minutes)
- 05.00 am : went to my computer and start Blogging!
(3 hours) - 08.00 am : Prepare for work
- 09.00 am : arrive at office and start working
- 17.00 pm : Go home, do some mind & body relaxation, dinner, etc
- 18.00 pm : Social Activities
- 19.00 pm : Preparing for the second battle! Blogging!
(3 hours) - 22.00 pm : Sleep ( 6 hours or so )
That’s my daily activities. Because I work from Monday to Saturday, I only have 1 full free day at Sunday. And for this Sunday, I also fully devote my time for building my blog and relation with other.
When I’m working, although I also have Internet connection on my computer, I won’t make any thing that will disturb my work. But, I devote all my break time for replying message from friends & communities.
I usually have my lunch in front of my computer. Such bad habit, huh?

My conclusion is, Although I also got my 9-5 time killer, I still have my 6 hours of blogging time, 6 hours for sleep and 1 hour for my offline relationship building.
There is no “no time for blogging” reason for a blogger to stop posting. I think this is what the expert call it “the spirit” or “the passion” of a blogger.
I have been blogging for 3 months and 27 days now. I will try hard enough to break the 6 months-blogger-wall and hope things will get better that day!
One important word for this post is:
“Do you dare to sacrifice something to obtain anotherthing that is more enjoyable?”
I have sacrifice my 3 important matters in my life to keep my blog survive. And I know I will get what I want if I can keep my persistence on what I’m doing now. And I know in the Next 3 months, It’s my day to say good bye to my primary job!
Well, I will close this post with two old quote:
“Persistence is the key to all successes” and “You Will Sow What You Seed!”
See ya! ![]()

Well, not completely because of you, pearl!
A little part only. I also got friends that are not motivated enough with his dreams to become what they wanted.
I’ve drew my planning, if everything goes smoothly in this 3 months, I can quit my primary job and make things better with internet business!
Thanks for your wish!

I think many bloggers juggle work, family, social life, and blogging. I think you epitomize the problem in this post, but it really is good to find some balance, if you can.
Reply to Laura(July 5, 2007, 11:14 pm)
I think you are right, Laura. I have completely juggle my work, family and social life for blogging. I’m still forming a formula for myself to suit the condition of my life.
Still not enough trials and errors for me to make an ultimate rules to form a “balance” between work, family, social life and blogging.
By the way, Laura. If you have suggestion for me in this post, please don’t hesitate to tell me! I would like to hear more about it.
Let’s share together on how to manage our blogging, work, social life and family without letting them juggled together and become a mess of life!
Thanks for your comment!

I have to say I respect and admire your determination.
I am very sure that you can achieve what you have set for. Don’t get discourage if it is a few months off the mark.
I could not believe you even get up at 4:30am !!!
Margaret Thatcher from Britain said a person only need 3-4hours of sleep.
I knew exactly what you are going through.
I did that many years ago when I was in Brunei managing Informatics. Our sales gone from B$300k to B$1.2million without 2 years. And I even worked on the 1st day of Chinese New Year !!!
All the best for your undertaking.
I know you will get where you want to be !!!!

Hey that’s what I call dedication and passion! I left my day job because I wanted to make my blog big! I know I’m bit lazy and that’s why I haven’t reached where I wanted to but now I’m picking up things faster.
Best of luck and hope to see another problogger soon

Hi, kuanhoong! Thanks for your wishes! I’m really hope I could become a millionaire next year!
But, I don’t want something to happen in a night or quickly! I want it slowly.
Reply to Ken Xu“Slowly become wealthy” is more enjoyable than one night experience (like winning a lottery)!

Ken Xu,
You are most welcome !
The only wise advice I would like to impart is : DIVERSIFY !!!
No matter what you do, never never never put all the eggs in one basket.
Invest 25% in business, 25% in stocks (that include common stocks, commodities), 25% in RE, 25% in other areas such as arts, educations, money market, bonds etc…
Keep this post in a safe place and in 20years, send a thank you note to Aunty Jamy in Almedeka :):)-

We are all in the same boat. I’ve been spending a lot of time in front of the computer both at work and at home. I’ve also given up watching TV (but not social activity) just to keep my blog alive and with good content. Blogging is hard work and fun at the same time. We might not make money at first but if we are enjoying what we do and we are learning everyday on how to improve our blog, then money will surely follow.
Reply to My Financial Mistakes(July 7, 2007, 2:05 pm)
You are totally right, My friend!
If you are going to Blogging for money, it is not for people who don’t have patience. So many people just quit because they don’t get their desire result in less than three months. That’s why the expert said, If you can successfully blog your way through the 6 months barrier, You have form a great habits and won’t fail easily because of minor things.
