As Blogging trend comes to fade by time, a new trend is up and ready to change the habit of the online users.

Micro Blogging is one of the newest trend for fast people.

The reason I call it for fast people is due to the short post on each entry. With the max of 140 Character each, You will be able to make a blog post in less then a minute.

The most Popular Service that available in the blogosphere is Twitter. But since the rise other services, the Micro Blogging market is not a lonesome market anymore.

Until today, I can name more services that your hand can count. But I only fave on 3 services from all of them. Let’s begin with the Mamma:

Twitter

Tweet Twoot Twiit ter.

Sound’s funny when my first time heard about this service’s brand. Twitter is the Mamma of Micro Blogging Idea (at least, that’s what I’m thinking).

Twitter interface is really cute and dreamy. With Cat as the mascot, it make a lot of people fall in love with Twitter. Well, it’s not about the cat, but it’s about the features.

It let you display your entry as soon as your hit on the “update” button. Typing some words like “Hey, the cake is stink!” and let the world know that the cake is no edible.

Well, not only that, you can customize your own twitter page with different kind of background image and color. Is up to your decision.

When you signed up with them, Twitter will make a directory with your username. for example, my twitter profile is http://twitter.com/kennarco (kennarco is a combine nickname of Ken and Sandy Winarkho ;p )

You can use this address as a feed URL for Jaiku. What is jaiku?

Jaiku

Jaiku is also a micro blogging services. Some experts believe, Jaiku is the biggest competitor for Twitter.

Jaiku is smart. They have their admin officer to blog and meddle into the discussion too. I recently read an entry from them to ask blogger about features that they should add.

Jaiku almost cover up all features that Twitter is lack/not available to use. Like inserting a picture in our micro post.

Special feature?

I’m a 2 days experience user. Until today, What I’m thinking is special is:

• I’m able to add Icons to my post
• I can add picture from flickr
• I can subscribe to somebody’s blog feed directly.
• I can add comments

Something that interested me is the adsense ads. It make me feel that adsense is still not dead yet because Jaiku is providing a special room for it.

While many people said adsense is a walking zombie (well, they earn nothing from adsense), After seeing jaiku let it sit nicely below my contact room, I’m motivated to adsense my blog in a better way!

Jaiku allow you to add feed address from your blog as the entry of Jaiku micro blog post. It’s interesting because you can add several feed like flickr, del.icio.us, Pownce….

wait! What is Pownce? Punches? Prawns?

Well, Pownce is another big freak created by the freaky 60 Millions earning in 18 Months Boy, Kevin Rose.

I don’t know where the heck did he Digg out this name. But it sound like “Prince Of Prawn”. Well, it’s a unprotected opinion ala-Benedict.

When I digg deeper into the feature after using Pownce, I realize that this services is no a make for laugh. Especially the feature to update your pownce via desktop application, this service will become trend of micro blogging.

In my 2 days observations, Pownce cover almost all jaiku’s feature, except the feature to add feed URL from several source.

Facebook

I’m including this one as my optional top 4 service. The reason? Well, I just join it yesterday and still have no clue about it! ;p

But I’m really interested when witnessing some cool feature of facebook. I will do some research and will tell you the result next time.

Last one, have you ever heard about MoodMill?

this service is available for you as long as you understand Indonesian.

To tell you the truth, this service is really unique. Every time adding new entry, they ask you to define your current mood. Each mood will be accompanied by a Funny poring-like image to show your mood.

And the will record your mood reactions for 1 week to let you do some self-introspection on your feeling.
