15 Devil Killer Attitudes in Blogging

By Ken Xu on Sep 12, 2007 in Blogging, Personal Growth

Ha! Sounds like an exorcist now! I come up with this headline of after listening some Holistic songs (fight devil, fight devil)! :P

A good set of attitude is important. As a blogger, facing problems that may occur along your blogging journey is your daily meal. It’s important for you to have a set of supportive Attitudes that will become your strongest weapons to fight the unwanted situation.

Problems is like a devil inside our soul. And a set of supportive attitudes will become our exorcist tools to deal with the devil.

Let’s begin with the first and the most important attitude that you should have in blogging.

Positive Mentality

This subject has been discussed before in this post. This subject is so popular nowadays. Still, many people ignore this attitude and tend to do the reverse thinking and live their life negatively.

I could see so many books and audiobooks or even a video tutorials that teach about how to change your life with positive mindset and attitude. But still, less people aware of this mentality and live in the misery of negative environment.

Think positively, don’t let the devil rule your mindset.

Thinking BIG

I believe you have heard about this title before: “The Magic of Thinking Big”. In this book, the author splashed his greatest teaches to make us Confident in our life.

Thinking Big enable you to feel extra confident about your life, your work, and your relationship. Almost every aspect of your life will be leveled-up if you can Thinking Big enough. :)

Thinking yourself as BIG as a Problogger with six figures income before you actually reaching the line will make the universe respond to your wishes, and your future is set at that time.

Just remember this wisdom:

All that we are
is the result of what
we have thought
.”
— Buddha

Endurance

Many sport in the world require their freshman to be able to endure hard and body killing exercise to train their body and soul.

Blogging is also like sport, anyway. It require you to be able to endure the hard and heart piercing problems before you could actually become a pro in this field.

Pro-blogger like Darren and Yaro already have a steel-solid endurance towards problems. They may looks simple from their picture, but don’t try to look down on their inner side! :P

Curiosity

This attitude could help your grow, but it will highly connected with the next attitude, Teachable.

Curiosity means you have the intention to grow but won’t decide if you are actually growing. The sign of curiosity is “asking a lot” in the field where people don’t ask. :)

What I mean is, curiosity will push you to dig more information from not only 1 source, but from several person or site that you think worth to splash with your questions.

Teachable

When you have curiosity in your mindset, you will need to be teachable to accept all advises from all sources, from all ages.

Nowadays children is super-clever. You will find a 15, 13, or even a 11 years old blogger is blogging like an expert in their field! :)

If you are not teachable, you will miss a lot of fresh view from a young blogger.

Challenger

Blogging is challenging hobby. if you don’t have a challenger attitude, you will not have a good improvement at all. Almost every day, new cases available for your to solve. It’s like a big puzzle waiting you to solve.

Being a challenger is easy. Just make sure to find lots of friends around the blogosphere. The challenge will automatically available for you. Every time you solve on puzzle, you will gain one “friendship” point or may be a “traffic” point.

You collect it and after a period of time, you can exchange it for the prize of “success”! :P

Optimistic

If you believe in what you are doing at 100%, then you should have no worry about this attitude. Why? Because you already have it! :D

Believing on your work will set a different energy around you which make big problem looks small! :)

Dare to Fail

Fail is our past. bad record is only a “record”, not the current achievement and not defining the future of our stats. ‘Dare to fail’ set you apart from eternity loser.

Why must afraid of something from the past while you have the full grasp of your present and future?

Love

Love is not as simple as man and woman hugging each other. It also can be a e-love like love between blogger. Love create a different condition around your community. A different kind of tone in your comment, without expecting any return from what you have contribute to your community, to your reader.

Your reader will respect you much and will return your love in form of their support in stumble, digg, visit, or any kind of source that could help you.

People will know your personality through your comment, whether you are full of love or just a machine-techie-freak making a comments.

Patience/Calmness

Able to calm in any situation may become a gift from God to you. Although it’s learnable, calmness is so hard to achieve by some kind of BlameCaster type of human.

Patience attitude could safe you from a lot of useless events (like quarreling with your commentator).

The rules of patience is simple:

  1. Observes
  2. Process
  3. Conclusion

People tend to jump to conclusion before they observes and process the problem firmly in their perception.

Honesty

The more Cheat, Scam, Spam, or Hack available in this world, indicated the world is not as honest as before anymore. Almost everyday, you receive spam message, and scam offer. Or the worst, your wordpress is hacked by a super-hacker. It’s frustrating, but that’s the truth of life.

Less people is honest today. Lots of them is wearing a thick mask to hide their rotten devilish face. So, if you are able to honest from the bottom of your heart and make a real treat to your reader, you will easily become the lotus above the swarm!

Friendly

Being friendly is an important attitude to build goodwill community. It’s the law of attraction, anyway. Friendly people will attract friendly peoples. If you have this attitude attached on your soul, you will have no worry about the haunted community and blog that nobody want to take part in it. :)

Many and so many people will love your attitude and like to make friend with you. It’s not happening in one night. But overtime. Try to be as friendly as you can. I’m sure you will build a strong readership.

Selfless - reader minded

Readers are not dumb. and not idiot. They are very-very-very clever. They even could tell that your content is made for them or not by reading the first paragraph! That’s why in your analytics your will find a 10 seconds visitors! :P

Selfless attitude is to devote anything to reader before to yourself. But don’t get me wrong. Selfless is not mean you must sacrifice yourself! But it’s a 80:20 rule.

80 for your readers, and 20 for yourself. Believe it or not, the result will be the reverse if you could set up a good basic of that rule.

Your devotion of 80 for your reader will give you back 80 achievement. Give and take, Dale Carnegie’s Rules! :D

Flexible

flexibility is the attitude that we should have in any field of our life. Not limited to blogging only.

Flexibility enable you to act upon some drastic change of your work, blog, or even your life. No need to feel bad if you couldn’t flexible now. like myself, flexible is not my best attitude too! I tend to be like a stone sometimes! :P

But being flexible is learnable. Just need some effort from us to realize, aware and act upon it.

Believe in God

God is our Supreme source of energy to feel motivated each time when we face difficult problem. An Attitude to Believe in Him would be a blessed and Things will go smoother than regretting the life.

Put all your attention to the Supreme One, and you shall be rescued! :)
