8 Tips to Have a Healthy Blog

By Ken Xu on Oct 29, 2007 in Blogging, Personal Growth

Everybody dream of having a healthy blog. It’s just like having a healthy body, you can almost do anything you want and achieve anything you dream of if you have a healthy body to support you.

Healthy blog also do the same. It could help you achieve anything that you dream of, like:

  • Experience Boost
  • Friends across the globe
  • Increasing Popularity and brand
  • Earn more money
  • Find better Soul Mate
  • etc

To have a healthy blog, there are tips that you could follow to achieve the healthiness of blog, just like following your yoga instructor to exercise in a right ways to have a healthy body.

Let’s see what is the tips:

First: Choose a Great Hosting

Yes, a GREAT hosting. Don’t bother with ‘good’ web hosting that could offer you cheaper. GREAT hosting makes your blog future GREAT because you will not face any trouble on your blogging journey with them.

Many bloggers ignore this part. As a result, they get several diseases regularly like:

  • Server down
  • Database Corruption
  • MySQL errors
  • Account Suspension
  • Unable to hold spike traffic
  • Website inaccessible / Unknown reason
  • Slow Customer Service, etc

Their blog become unhealthy with or without their direct attention. Some funny case is, when you browse by your own, you will see you site still there, but when your reader tries to access through their side, they get an error message. I’ve ever experience such a funny case when I host my blog on a local cheap hosting. I suggest you not to use them (cheap hosting) to avoid those diseases.

Second: Choose a GREAT blogging Platform

Blogging platform is the core tool for your blog. You will need to choose the right on to avoid any difficulty that could harm you in the future.

There is no other blogging platform that could beat Wordpress for the moment. Because we know that Wordpress is:

  • Free
  • Ease of Use
  • Many Features
  • Powerful Platform

Almost all Expert Bloggers / Professional Bloggers use Wordpress as their Home of Hope and Success. :)

Third: Choose a Great Blog Design

Design is your face. If you want a healthy face, you will use a lot of tools and cosmetics to make it look handsome or beautiful. Your face is your identity and your face is your first impression for everybody you’ve met.

Try to give a good impression with a neat and professional design for your blog. If needed, buy a premium design is better than using the free downloadable one.

Fourth: Choose a Suitable Topic

Yes, a suitable topic. Not a niche topic our long-tail-mouse method anymore. Although choosing a niche topic could help you a lot, blogging on a ’suitable topic’ to your hobbies and interests is better.

Don’t afraid of the competition ahead. If you are blogging at your suitable niche and topic, no matter how competitive it is, you will see it as a challenge instead of obstacles and you will grow faster than anybody else who stay safe inside the cage of untapped niche.

Fifth: Choose the Right Master

Everybody, with no exception, is finding a mentor for their online successes consciously or unconsciously.

We sometimes keep thinking that we could find out a way for ourselves without anyone’s help. But the truth is, you need somebody more than you could even imagine.

That’s why you will see stuffed entries inside your feed reader and a bunch of email from peoples that you subscribed long time ago in your inbox, and lots of e-books inside your hard drive.

Avoid thinking of self-survival in blogging. Having a “Master” behind you would ensure a better future.

Sixth: Learn from the Master

Believe it or not, many blogger have a strange habit. They bought ebooks, or they pay for Courses, but learn nothing from it.

Why? Because of 2 common reasons:

1. Not Teachable and Close minded

It’s because of their mind are close. You know, nowadays gurus and masters are averagely a young guys and girls. Sometimes people just don’t like to open their mind and learn from people who are younger than them.

Well, I cannot judge anything about that. It a free thinks and free will era. But make sure to put your priority in the “content quality” and not in the age problem.

Learn it properly and let them guide you to your success is better than debating the age and experience problems.

2. Lazy Bone

Oke, face the truth. I’m lazy, you are lazy, everybody is lazy! We want a quick solution! Quick menu, quick breakfast, quick service, instant results, overnight success, overnight millionaire, etc and etc.

All is created because of our Lazy mentality. In fact, nothing is instant in reaching your own wealth (except you win a lottery! :) )

If you have make a commitment to buy ebooks or pay for the course, learn from it instead leaving it as a garbage.

Seventh: Choose a Suitable Promotion Methods

Blogging without marketing is sound like breakfast without food. No blog will success without proper marketing.

There is bunch of marketing tips around the net that you could use for your advantages. Actually if you have choose the right master to learn with, he/she will teach you the best marketing strategies and tactics to boost your blog visibility.

Well, if you still haven’t enrolled as a pupil of any Gurus or Master, the following marketing techniques are my personal choices which are pretty good to help me promote my blog:

  • Article marketing
  • Google Adwords
  • Comment Marketing

Article marketing and comment marketing is free. It’s the fastest medium to promote your blog. You could really enjoy a minor instant result here. But you will need to do it consistently to achieve a greater result.

Eighth: Exercise Regularly

Exercise in blogging is your posting frequency. Make sure to work out your blog properly everyday, or with your chosen frequency to achieve a healthy blog.

An exercise menu that you should have is as below:

  • publish post regularly every week (suggested 5-6 posts a week)
  • Post a guest post at your friend’s blog within the same niche every week
  • Give comment regularly on 30+ related niche blog
  • Create 5-7 articles and submit it to Ezine Directory

Well, that’s the tips. Hope it’s useful for you to strengthen your blog and prolong your blog life.

Why not we do it ourselves, it’s always faster and more cost effective this way:) I have few people inline already, let me know if you are interested.
