I was doing some little research this 2 days since my last post about price dropping from A-data memory.
This research was triggered by one of my reader. He told me that his region where he lives wasn’t able to receive any order from the online store that I recommended. And as a part of my problem too (because I have a same situation as him, only have a little different story so I can get my supply from U.S.). So, I begin my research in several online media. ![]()
I’ve asking for help from on several online vendors concerning the international shipping issues.
And from most of them, I got this message:
**International Shipping
You may ship an order to these countries: U.S., Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, or an FPO or APO address. We are not able to ship internationally to other countries. Both the shipping and billing address must be an address in the U.S., Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, or an APO/FPO address (Military).
We are sorry for the inconvenience to be not able to receive order from your country.
And to let you know where I went to search for answer, I have list out the top 7 vendors that I’ve questioned them with this problem:
The main reason of not able to ship internationally is because of the tax and the law’s distinction in each country. Although we are now in a globalization era, I think the law is still to strict to allow something to travel borderless around the world. ![]()
I must exclude the Well-Developed countries (China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, etc) from the list of Asia countries that cannot make online hardware purchasing.
I saw that they have their own solution to this problem. For example, In China I can go to www.joyo.com or www.newegg.com.cn to purchase online.
Joyo.com is one of the popular web store in China, and joyo.com is the Chinese version of Amazon.com. I think Amazon.com have step his foot firmly in china market. ![]()
Newegg is also interesting here. My China friend help me find their Chinese version website. Newegg.com.cn enable china residents to put order online, and newegg will send it to their customer front door.
This also applies to the other well-developed countries like Japan, Korea, etc. But because of some language problems, I can’t dig more information in those countries.
May be somebody can help me?
How about the developing countries like India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, etc?
Unfortunately, this country seem not eligible to place any online order to the vendors I stated above.
And the worst condition is, some of them don’t even have a change to go online because of the lacking infrastructure in their country.
But not all country get that condition, though…
For example, In Indonesia country where I lives, We got a no.1 online computer cyber store called bhinneka.com. You can try to take a look at the site with this URI: www.bhinneka.com
Bhinneka is no different with NewEgg.com or TigerDirect.com and Bhinneka couldn’t serve customer from outside of Indonesia because of the law and tax matter too!
Other country like India, they may use ebay.in as one of their solution. They can bid product and have the merchant send the goods to their front door.
India also have a good website called indiaplaza.com which sell many gift items, DVD, Kitchen wares, etc.
And many other interesting local site such as: www.sirindia.com & shopping.indiatimes.com. Techtree.com may also become a good reference on computer hardware.
Conclusion?
Not all Asian country peoples can’t order computer online. Only some of the developing countries’ peoples that can’t do anything because of the lacking infrastructure.
Until the true Globalization comes, I think this problem will not easily solve.
If you’re living in a developing country that don’t have any online store, I think you should wait, until there is some great person to launch an online store or allow an online order placement. If not, the only way out is to shop offline…! ![]()
I’m currently still searching on vendors that DO SHIP internationally. I will make a post if I found one.
Please leave some comment if you have different thought about this subject. I’d be happy to hear it from you.

Some complements should be added that it’s easy to shop online in China not only joyo.com but also at 360buy.com, icson.com, taobao.com.
360buy.com and icson.com is the most cheap online 3c shop but only availiable in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, these top cities in China.
dangdang.com is the biggest book store.
Taobao.com is availiable to every corner of China. Mainly it is famous of selling second-hand goods. In fact, it is a online flea market. Lots of people do biz there.
