20S - No More Overheat on Wrong Cable Management

By Ken Xu on Jun 13, 2007 in General

Problem:
To equip your belove PC with P-ATA DVD-burner Drive and Hard Disk is a good idea. But after Installation, your PC going crash and restart again and again. What’s Happen?

Solved!
One of the problems here is the PC P-ATA cable management that goes wrong. There are mainly 2 reasons:

  • First, the cable was installed in a wrong place.
  • Second, your P-ATA cable stuck in the middle of your Casing Air-Circulations (AirFlow).

In a normal ATX casing, the air-circulations is fixed. ATX casing have 1 front cooling fan which inhales air from front to your inner Casing body to cool the bad-tempered-easy-to-heat devices like processor, graphic card and memory and exhausted by the exhaust fan at the back of the casing.p-ata-cable-comparison.jpg

If your wide-P-ATA cables stuck into the middle of the air circulation, It’s nature that your PC will gone mad!

Solution:
Arrange your Cable neatly so it won’t went to the middle of air circulation. Use “slim-body” type of P-ATA cable if affordable instead of the normal one!
