As I’ve promise before, on every month, I will choose 4 blogs to review. Today, I’m going to review my Top Commentator’s Blog, Kuanhoong.com.
At first, I was stumbled on him, again, on Mybloglog.com! Mybloglog really contribute a mass of friends and traffics for me. Kuanhoong.com is a blog that discuss about internet marketing, Money making tips and some news on technology.
Poo Kuan Hoong is the full name of the owner of Kuanhoong.com. I visit his site often to comment on his post. His blog have a “real value” and “genuine voice” of his 3 years experience in blogging.
At first, I want to put his photo on this post. But, I couldn’t find one that can represent him except his blog!
Below is how his blog looks like!
He use a clean design with lots of whitspaces. Nice to read and ready-to-skim type of blog.
His 5 recent posts on his blog is as following:
- Make Money Online with your videos
- A Broken Wing
- Pepsi is cucumber
- Tips for making money with Google Adsense Part 2
- 5 Steps to run Profitable eBay (Guess Blogger:Jenny How)
My first impression on him is illustrated within this sentence:
“OMG, he’s has a generous heart!” ![]()
In just 3 days of “hi-and-hello” on mybloglog, he have created a dedicated post for me! ![]()
Well, I’m kind of jealous of him because he is currently residing in Nagoya, Japan. Nagoya is my childhood dream town and I actually told Kuanhoong about this dream. As a result, he wrote a dedicated post for me about the “hitchhiker Guide to Nagoya, Japan“!
He give me an indepth situation of the festival on Nagoya and the real view of the obese-man-slapping-each-other sport (Sumo). This post really give me a real deep impression in my brain on him.
Well, his blog is not about travel guide, actually… His top Discussion on his blog is on the Make Money Online Category. With only one month landmark of blogging on his new domain, he have created 18 posts about make money online!
His top post in this category was the Adsense guide titled, “Tips for Make Money Online with Google Adsense - Part 1” with 17 comments until today.
And again, He wrote this post for his reader, Jamy, to solved her problem on Adsense. Since he is so generous, I this you should ask him to do some post for you too! ![]()
Oh yeah, You can visit his about me page with this link. Just for fun only, you can find his flickr page with no picture on it!
But at least, you can take a peek on how is he look like in his small thumbnail image. I found that his Mybloglog avatars looks more clearly here. See below:

Handsome, huh? Nope… I think he’s more generous-looking guy than handsome! ![]()
I can’t see his face clearly like what Sunny has in my review on his desi Baba blog. So, I can’t figure out anything and I don’t want to be a face fortune teller too! ![]()
His blog’s post that truly inspired me is about “How to work 4 hours per week“. Kuan Hoong introduce me to a great man named Timothy Ferris and Scoble (who can read 622 RSS feeds each morning!).
That’s what I’m chasing for in working. 4 hours a week! not 8 hours a day!
So… Conclusion?
If you like him, you should pay a visit to his blog. Or if you like about make money online tips, you should subscribe to his feed! And if you find yourself in trouble on blogging, You should ask him to write a post for you! ![]()
“Good guy with good blog”. No other words to express about him. I’m Praising, not hyping. You will soon find out he is a good guy to make friend with! ![]()
Yup! Let’s end this post and meet again on the next post!
Have a nice day and bye! ![]()
P.S. If you want to be come the next candidate of my review, Please Comment often!
I will select one people who’s listed in my top commentators list and I will review him/her blog on every sunday morning. Hope you’ll be the next candidate!

well, Jamy. Friendship is the main ingredient in building a blog… Just like the salt and seasonings for your cooking show!

Ken,
Yes, I sincerely believe friendship/social network , creativity, unique content , honest and appropriate marketing tool are some of the ingredient of differentiating a bad blog from a good blog.
As I am started to be more involved in the blog world. I found every Tom Dick and Harry blog on ‘How to’ make $ blog. I wonder how many of these blogs will survive if all they wanted to blog is ‘how to make $ on the blog’.
From my mgt, biz experience (more than 25yrs), the failure rate of low barrier of entry trade is extremely high. Blogging has one of the lowest barrier of entry. If people wanted to kid themselves that they can write a blog to tell me how to make $ from the blog, they better pack and sell ‘kolo mee’ better.
Now even my 4yrs old can start a blog as soon as he learns how to type. He told me he is going to do his blog on racing cars !

You are 100% right, Jamy. I believe too, there is nothing in the market that can maintain their lifespan more than a human’s life.

Reply to Ken XuBut, I’m kind of interested with you thought here, jamy. You are right that many beginner blogger who just start their blogging time and try to teach us how to bring money to our pocket, is something funny to tell. Except if they have past experiences in blogging, they are truly “strange” in my logical thinking…
But, I think this case apply to “kolo mee” too! (Note: Kolo mee is malaysian noodles food) If everybody who don’t success in blogging and try to become kolo mee seller, this market will highly saturated by them - the novice one!
at the end, the only way for the kolo mee seller is to diversify the kolo mee itself. Let’s say, If other sell “kolo mee with chicken soup”, than you will sell “kolo mee with chicken soup and one free lemon juice”.
Mirror back to blogging. Every one talking about make money with blogging. the problem now is, “How Will You Try To Diversify Yourself in This Market”
Just like the kolo mee, if people talking about make money online, you may be can do some spin and make it as “Kopitiam that can make money online” or “Mum’s Secrets to make money online.
Like myself, I’m soon going to spin out some idea to unite “Computer Hardware” and “Make Money Online”.
The variation Could be unlimited. It’s base upon on your creativity to spin it.
(June 18, 2007, 9:10 am)
Aiya, I want to sell “kolo mee” too.
Reply to kuanhoongIn fact, one of my favorite foods is “kolo mee”
(June 18, 2007, 11:39 am)
Kolo mee? I Actually hear about somebody who get rich by selling kolo mee in Singapore! Yes, I also like its taste. Yummy!
Reply to Ken Xu(June 18, 2007, 10:13 pm)
Ken, might be u do no get what I mean yet.
I am not sure if it is due to our Malaysian education system that destroy creativity in us. We copied well !
At a span of less than 1 mth, I noticed there were lots of redundancy in Malaysia ‘How to make $’ blogs. Most people just copy and link to American blogs/sites that can make $. How many Malaysian really create a blog/site that really has its own idea ? Not that I am being critical of Malaysia now that I am an American but this is just a continuous observation that I have done over 30yrs +.
It is exactly like we do Malaysia , when someone started a karakoe, then the whole bunch of monkey follow suit !
To me ‘kolo me’ is still kolo me if u add another lemon juice. Lemon juice does not add value to the biz in the long run cos you have to factor that in yr cost. !
A genius is someone who create/invent a ‘kolo mee’ that someone sell for him/her and he collect royalty rights !!!!
Yes, I believe in niche market. I was able to create a niche market in Informatics Frenchise school in Asia. Yes, every Informatics schools provide diploma and advance diploma but Ms Tan Brunei informatics niche value (e-hostel, cybercafe, weekly international star tract cyber game competition added value to the center that no one in South East Asia even heard of it !) That is what I call creativity and niche market.
Yes, I am not a humble person when I talk abt my success :), aiyseh !!!!
Nah, I have not find a lot of value in most ‘How to make $’ blog among Malaysians. Sorry ! not being rude but might be u can prove me wrong ! :):):):):):)
Reply to jamy(June 18, 2007, 11:21 pm)
Don’t worry, Jamy. No one is rude when try to share their experience and thoughts. This is called “Passion” of life. Not a “rudeness” at all!
But, are you sure online business will be the same with offline?
Reply to Ken XuYou really have a long experience in offline business. and I’m really proud of you!
(June 19, 2007, 12:08 am)

Great Reference! Will be my top visit blog from now! Thanks Jamy. I need this kind of blog to support and enlarge my vision on making money online or offline. You should call yourself a guru from now!
Reply to Ken Xu(June 19, 2007, 9:22 am)
i 100% agree with jamy on the mmo blog. sigh…
Reply to JennyHow(June 19, 2007, 10:48 am)
Hmm… Yup. You bet. I agree. but not 100%.
A vision from her is very valuable.
but, time is changing, not all classic method will work out fine today.
Indeed, there are some classic ideas that works fine like 36 Strategies of Sun Tzu, or the “Thick Face Black Heart” ideas.
What I believe is “行行出状元” or “every area of expertise will have it’s own winner”.
And I identify my “expertise” as the “niche market” that I’m indulging now.
If what jamy said is 100% true, I would try to challenge her thoughts with my achievements. I’ll try to break the old rules, and find the new road to my own successes.
Not kidding anybody here. Just let the time roll and we’ll see the result.
Reply to Ken Xu(June 19, 2007, 10:52 am)

Reply to Ken XuAnd.. Oops, I’m not Malaysian, Jamy. I born and live in Indonesia. I visit Malaysia often, So I know a little about malaysian cultures. Boleh!
(June 19, 2007, 11:19 am)
U are Malaysian Chinese ? Wow, it is even most exciting.
Do u know we hold a monthly Christian fellowship @ our home ?
There is these American missionary couple who labored with Indonesian trips and some in Jakarta city for 35yrs. They both returned to US because he was diagnosed as having pancreatic cancer. When they were home in our town, we met them and they expressed concern that they Indonesian man who was holding the meeting in their home will be leaving US soon cos his wife has finished her post doc degree.
I felt very kesian for the group, so I asked hubby if he is ok if we take over. As nice as my husband is , of course we inherited the group.
There is this Indonesian Chinese guy who went to SF to study long ago and was so convicted he wanted to go to full time preaching ministry. So he did give up his enginnering job and now he minster to more than 1000 Indonesian in Orlando, big gp of Indonesian.
He drove 2hrs every mth to our gp to minster to the Indonesian people @ our town, people who live here for a while and some Indonesian students in University of Florida.
He also have big gp in Tampa, West Palm beach.
I like to connect you to one of the young Indonesian young fellow in our gp. He actually work for Disdney IT , he is in Japan now. He is a very nice fellow, very chubby, cheerful and love my boy so very much. I keep pastering to get kawin quick :):):). I will send him to yr blog.
Cheers !
