Deadline for authors is like a twin blades ready to cut their throat if they don’t finish what they should have finished before the deadline.
Deadline has become the biggest threaten for all authors in the world. But it’s also have become the most and great brain vitamins to boost inspirations.
Some peoples will works very well under a pressure of a deadline. There some extreme people who ever use this phrase to show how important a deadline is:
Make a deadline or DIE!
Well, I’m not extremist, so my thought is a little bit different. Deadline is important, but not that extreme until you must die.
The effect of Deadline
Deadline is sure a twin edge blade. If you don’t be careful when using, it may tackled your inspirations away to the moon! ;p
There are 2 side to look carefully here:
The Negative Effects
Let’s begin with something not good to hear first. negative effect of setting a deadline is spreading from mental and spiritual influences like:
- Frustration
- Body Resistance
- Tiredness
- Feeling incompetent
- Attitude and Aptitude Change (especially for the BlameCaster type of human)
- Health Problem (for extremist)
Generally, the very basic effect of deadline to us is frustration. Follow by Mental Tiredness and the ever decreasing body resistance to chase for the insane deadline (some deadline are just too insane sometimes), it will try to limit your thought and feel incompetent about what you are working at.
Especially for some type of peoples, you will see a clear change of attitude in facing a near to due deadline. The worst scenario is, a health problem will occur to respond to the deadline.
The Positive Effects
Positive is sure the greatest point that make people dare to take the risks above for the achievement:
- Make you more creative and insightful
- Boosting Motivation
- Focus like a laser that could cut everything
- Goal minded
- Solid steel Target to chase
- Being able to find great joy of achievement
Some people (including me) love to work under a pressure. That’s mean I’m not suitable for something or job that have no deadline to chase. I tend to looks like a super-dumb-dumb individual with no motivation if I have no goals to chase, no due date to fulfill.
Deadline has been my biggest motivator to finish my blogging. It allow me to focus my attention to form a laser like persistence to cut down any kind of distractions. It also will keep reminding you about the upcoming goals.
The most enjoyment in setting a deadline is to feel the extraordinary excitement when you can finish a tough projects right before the tight deadline. It’s feel so good and alive!
Why Setting Deadline?
Because deadline setting is important to pump your heart to feel urge on what you are indulging at. Many times in our life, we tend to become too relax when a jobs with no serious deadline.
Their will be 2 results happening in this case:
Result 1
You will be able to focus and finished the concept without looking at the deadline and publish your post before the deadline.Result 2
Your are unable to focus because you don’t have an urge feeling to finish it quicker than usually, and finally you forget the task and lose your readership and some popularity around your niche.Generally, Human is lazy. That’s why so many technology out there to help us human to be more lazy than before!

It’s just so rare to find a person who could survive in the blogging battle of writing in a daily consistency without a clear setting of deadline.
