Now Reading ...I’ve got an invitation from CLIQin this morning. After reading the invitation message, I evoke my browser and point to CLIQin.com to find out more about the offer to increase my readership and popularity.
When I arrived at the site, I see a big ball of rubber. Well, may be it’s just an illustration to the slogan “Band Together”. 
After awhile of clicking here and clicking there, I’ve finally comes up with my own description about what CLIQin is.
CLIQin have the similar system with the Hot “BlogRush”. It’s also about sharing your posts in other’s blog within the widget (see my sidebar).
You will notice that my widget is still blank with only one content of my own blog post. You will need to invite your friend to join your CLIQ and share their post inside your widget.
Other user of CLIQ may become interest in your CLIQ and decided to join your CLIQ. You have two options to set to your CLIQ:
- an open enrollment (which anybody could join), or
- Private (need a approval before being accepted into your CLIQ)
In CLIQin, you either have the choice to be the leader, or leave your own CLIQ and join others. CLIQin is not allowing you to have your own CLIQ while you join with other’s.
May be it’s like no 2 kings in one kingdom. It’s a good feature for controlling the directory to go nuts with CLIQs in the future.
Every member in the CLIQ will start to share their blog post in your widget. Of course, your post will start to show up in their blog too. It’s kind of equivalent trade.
I think it’s the feature that differentiate CLIQin from BlogRush. We have the unique control of what are you going to show to your blog reader.
You also have the control to display what is the featured post of your own choice using the “featured Content Rules” on the control panel or right within the widget itself.
There are 3 options to choose:
- Feature My “Most Recent Post”
- Feature My “Long Tail”
- Manual Selection
Featuring Long Tail means to expose your post that have least total views. Which is promising to give an extra exposure for your old posts.
Well, I guess you will not immediately getting a great exposure to your blog. Why? In my personal observation, I was the number 17 member until today.
CLIQin is still new and just launched into the BETA stage. So, it will not give you a good traffic yet.
May be it will be like Blogrush, CLIQin may not be able to have a high conversion rate or click through to your blog. It may be as low as Blogrush have, so consider to add this widget and track the performance. If it’s not giving you any improvement, you could always delete it with no second thought.
I also found some lacking in their feed system. I was using the Feature my Most Recent Post option and the widget show me my last 4 months post. I wonder if the system is down or something.

I just noticed the widget, Ken - looks way better than BlogRush. I’ll be checking in often to see how your results are.
Btw, I also noticed you took down the DealDotCom widget - was wondering if you got my msg about getting the older version?

Yeah, the widget is looks better. But I still having some annoying experience on the CLIQ member management.

About the deal dot come, It seem my theme is not supporting it. I will have a theme changing few days later.

I love this widget
certainly better looking widget than blogrush .. I have no idea how it picked the ‘hottest’ post and you can click refresh, it’ll fetch your older posts and you have the control of selecting the post you want shown on your friends’ blog.. I am wondering if you could show different posts on different blogs though…. nice so far, thanks for inviting … i see my post on your widget now - will add it to my blog soon!

yeah, what happened? I just got home and it looks all messed up… in your widget also it me there, how did that happen? and I am not in your widget at all..:) this is pretty messed up… im glad I didnt write the post about it
