Transformation Theme Launching Day!

By Ken Xu on Oct 23, 2007 in featured, wordpress theme

Finally, it’s the launching day!

Yes, this theme is called “Transformation”. It’s my first theme and I’m really happy to be able to release it for public use.

This theme is the combination of several popular theme like problogger, copyblogger, John Chow, etc.

I combine their element together and BUZZ!… the theme’s born! :)

I’m must admitted that I have slacking from my posting schedule to develop this theme. I used up almost 10 days to settle things down.

I hope you will love this theme! ;)

Theme Overview:

My Comment:

This theme is ‘actually’ Adsense ready. There is a special spot for the 250 x 250 ads format at the homepage. I have provide you the code and adsense template. You only need to do some small works to display the ads above the featured post.

This spot is the best spot according to Joel Comm, the Adsense Doctor.

The steps to display Adsense Ads on Homepage:

  1. Find the index.php file
  2. Uncomment the code after <div id=”midcontent”> and save it
  3. find adsense-home-template.php file
  4. replace the “xxxxxxxxxxxxx” with your Adsense PUB id.
  5. Done! :)

For Adsense in single post view, I suggest you to use Adsense Deluxe for a better control and display. Try to enclose it with <div> tag and the float and margin style to make a variation to your ads display.

Transformation also is a premium sponsor ads ready theme. You can replace the image with an affiliate banners if you still don’t have any sponsored ads to display, though.

I’ve also provided MyBlogLog widget on the footer, all you need to do is to replace the “xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx” into your MyBlogLog ID.

You will notice a blank Top, Recent, and Random post section in the left sidebar. I suggest you to use Customizable Comment Listings (recommended by Lorelle). It could bring you more exposure for your posts inside your archives and and unpopular posts. :)

Need Help:

Since this is my first theme creation, I’m sure there is a bug that I haven’t found yet. I need your help to contact me if you found something’s wrong with the code.

Disclosure Policy:

Transformation Theme has a backlink to this blog at the footer section. Please consider leaving the link in tact to credit my hard work :)

Well, it’s up to you, anyway. Feel free to remove it. Just make sure you feel comfortable about it. :)

Hi, Houroc. I just checked your blog and I think you have figured it out. :) To let the image appear in the excerpt section, you need to make a good use of the Optional Excerpt Feature on wordpress.
Thanks for using my theme. :)

Thanks for making a great theme… I figured out how to put the pics on the index but I actually want to do it the way you have it, with a thumbnail on the index and on the single page having a full size image. Can you tell me how to do that? Thanks a lot. I am a newbie to wordpress…

Well, houroc. You can play with the code inside of your authoring area. You should be able to insert thumbnail and fullsize image into your authoring area. Copy the code and paste it to your optional excerpt area.
