Blogging Future?

By Ken Xu on Oct 31, 2007 in Blogging

Some new trend is begin to rise these days. You would see some of popular blogger trying to sell their great blog and switch to some other activities or switching niche.

From what I’ve observed since months ago, the first person who sold his blog is Sunny aka Desi Baba (desinotes.com) Followed by another friend in Bloggerlounge.net. George Sold his high potential blog for only $1000 although the blog has a high stats and great earning potential.

Again, I found another friend of mine, Matt Jones, willing to sell his blog on Bloggingfingers.com after he have reach a great achievement on traffic and earning.

It’s sound unbelievable. May be it’s because Matt is Yaro’s student and Yaro have wisdom that make Matt to sell his blog. I wonder what is that? :)

He claimed to be able to earn $300+ a month and have a 10.000+ unique visitors amonth. Currently, the blog is under a price negotiation and I wonder how much Matt is going to sell this awesome blog. :)

Well, it’s kind of new for me to hear about blog selling and buying. May be we have arrive at an era of Blog-Real-Estate. Which make a virtual things as valuable as real things.

I found an article via problogger.net which teach us about the tips about a successful blog sale.

It’s make me clear vision that blog-selling&buying has become another future trend on earning money online.

It happen to have somebody who only blog for 2 months to sold his blog for $1000. And If the person have total of 3 blogs at the same time, he could sell his blogs for $1000 each. Which mean around he could earn a whooping $1500 a month from selling blog.

It’s unbelievable, but that’s really happening on sitepoint’s marketplace. :)

It’s practically not a bad idea if your only motivation to go online is to earn money wealth instead of building other wealth (personal growth, friendship, etc).

But I think day has become hard then before since the big move of Google in penalizing and algorithm change.

Wendy Piersall at her emomsathome.com blog has done some research about how the late SEO practices in no more relevant to the result like SEO experts promise before.

It seems Google’s SERP (Search Engine Result Page) doesn’t follow it’s own guideline anymore. It’s weird and I don’t have any comment on that since Google decide big part of our online business life or dead.

Read Wendy’s research for more detail about this matter.

So, what is the best practice and best SEO rules for Google now?! :(

The other option may be is to create more ‘Reality’ (Relevant and Quality) blog posts to support our blog. I believe future search engine will point to this ‘Reality’ matter and start recognizing ‘Reality’.

And Make sure don’t mess around with the PR matter, too. Just follow what Maki’s opinion about Google PageRank. It’s just a measurement and don’t let measurement slaved you. :)

So true, Rahul. It’s better not become a money minded person. Money is just a tool. and we should develop other wealth of our life and the money will follow us when every part of our wealth is well-developed.
